Wednesday Walk in the Woods - Gt Hallingbury

We're off to Hatfield Forest via Bedlars Green near Great Hallingbury tomorrow evening as the weather's looking so good again.

It's lovely for an hour's evening stroll with the dogs and there is a very nice dog friendly pub, the Sir John Houblon (used to be the Hop Poles) where we park up and return to - how convenient :)

6.45 start, pub grub afterwards if you haven't had time for your meal between work and walk.

Map below, 5 minutes from Junction 8 of M11, Postcode CM22 7TP. Pub can be tricky to spot coming from Stansted as it's a bit hidden on a corner but you'll see it as you go past ;) Plenty of parking

For the GBGW committee we're going to do a very quick catch up, won't take too long.

Please could I hitch a lift Mummy? :) David is very likely to be working late and I'm not confident enough to drive it on my own!

Wanted to come to this one as it's quite a local one for me, but my back has had other ideas today - repeatedly going into spasm every time I think it's calmed down ::) Maybe the week after next :-/

the more the merrier ;D
we managed to get 13 greyhounds and one collie cross into the snug bar and have our tea last night :o
I can recommend the fish and chips there - and its so nice to have a local that is soooooo dog friendly
Its a really ideal pub for forest walking.

Snug in every sense of the word ;D It's a pity nobody had a camera handy when George decided to lie right on top of Dylan because there was no room on the floor!

Lovely walk, lovely grub and lovely company :)
