Welcome to Greyhound Walks Forum

Greyhound Walks are a group of greyhound and lurcher owners and lovers who meet 5 times a month in various venues in and around Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Norfolk for an hours stroll, chatter and the sharing of doggy tales.
All greyhounds and lurchers are welcome (no other breeds please).

Nowton Park
Day / Date / Time - Saturday 4 August - 6.30pm

Meeting Point - Visitor Centre Car Park

Address of walk - Nowton Country Park, Nowton Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Nearest available postcode (please check this if using for your SatNav) - IP29 5LU


Rough Directions - from the A134 Sudbury / Bury St Edmunds Road turn into Nowton Road and the entrance to the park is opposite Fox and Pin Lane. There are signs for the park from the main road.

Parking & Charges - Plentiful parking
Charge - £1 up to two hours, £2 over two hours

Suitable for buggys and wheelchairs? yes

Toilet facilities - yes at the Cafe

Refreshments – Cafe but probably not open (see below)

Nearest dog friendly pub - Rushbrooke Arms on A134 about 1/2 mile away

Anything else – This is special evening walk in a very peaceful park and we walk it in remembrance of all the greyhounds and dogs we have loved and lost.

After the walk we'll head to the Rushbrooke Arms (weather permitting) where dogs are allowed in the garden (IP30 0BU)

Reminder of tomorrow evenings walk ... let hope for nice weather so we can have a good walk and a enjoyable drink at the Rushbrooke Arms afterwards.

Thanks to Janet for a lovely evenings stroll around Nowton park.
:) :)
Great to see new faces and hounds. Peaches was happy to see sister Lemon and Rosko.
It was also good to catch up with Pat, Babs and the very funny Crystal who kept us entertained at the Rushbrooke Arms!

Thanks for a very nice walk Janet. Benny & Gemma enjoyed seeing their chums again and making new chums. Yes Joe, that Crystal is very amusing and great fun.
