 Chelsea's Ambassadors Cup
« Thread Started on Apr 11, 2012, 5:49pm »

Class 19 at the Greyhound Walks Show - on Sunday 29th April, is Chelsea's Ambassadors Cup.
This is a special class we're holding this year to celebrate our founding greyhound,Chelsea.

The class will only be open to Greyhounds - dogs or bitches or any age, and that have been on at least one of our walks in the past 12 months.

Myself and Janet will be the judges. We're not interested in how many legs/tails/ears it might have, nor do we care if it's deaf, blind or dumb, neither do we care if it's won Crufts three years on the trot. What we'll be looking of is the Greyhound that is calm, serene, relaxed but confident in their presence.

So, what's in for you ?
Well, aside from your class entry fee going towards the Greyhound Walks charity pot - which in turns goes on to help the 'hounds, there'll be a rosette for 1st to 5th place inclusive.
But the winner will also win the cup as shown in the photos below, and as winner will go through to the relevant Greyhound Best In Show (dog or bitch).

How to enter:
Simple. Just go to Greyhound & Lurcher booking in on the day, tick the box "class 19" (along with all the others you're entering), and pay your money to one of our wonderful booking in team.

Like Kit, there's no way Booze will be allowed into the ring for this one!

It's the taking part that's so important in this class, this is where the family come together.

Um.... Serene....

Kit - one lunatic, asbo mutt, with bouncy tendancies and hormonal 'attitude' is likely to come 99th out of 20!

She could also have her first season, that'll be like 'just look at me, if you feel lucky, punk!' :o

What a lovely cup and a great class. Hattie isn't the calmest or laid back of hounds but she will be entering as without Chelsea and her influence she wouldn't have come half as far as she has in the four and a bit years she's been home.

This would have been a great one for Dodger to enter, I'm sure if he was any more laid back he'd fall over!! Shame though as his first walk will be after the show so he won't qualify :( Oh well, always next year :)

Next year yes ...

we hope to that this award will be kept for as long as there is a Greyhound Walks show, and as long as we're around to sponsor it :)
