Norfolk for an hours stroll, chatter and the sharing of doggy tales. All greyhounds

I've just had word from Dave that the 2012 Show has had to be cancelled rue to unacceptable weather conditions. Dave will post more later. Apologies to anyone who's already on their way.

How very very sad after all your hard work and preparations. It wouldve have been a fantastic day. My prayers for the rain to stop werent answered. Glad we checked the website, unusual for us to be able to get online! What a great idea, We will also be donating our petrol and parking money.
Lily is a fairweather dog. She adores the sunny spots.

Such a shame, after lots of people put in alot of effort to try and make this happen. I guess the only thing they couldn't organise is the weather. I'll be up for any re-scheduled dates. There's also Kentford to look forward

Little bit to late left as we are hire only found out when rang up to ask where the show ground is then told it was cancelled at 8.45 was on the road the only time I could get down hear.

Oh what a shame. The hard work that goes into preping a show like this is immense. Hopefully it can be re-scheduled.
Because of the wind and rain Harry is still in bed and hasn't been out since last night or even got up for his breakfast, now that's bladder control. He will be made to go out soon as I'm sure he'll explode!

I camped overnight at the show ground and spent half the night awake pleading for the rain to stop.
Went onto the field shortly before 6am, which was useable at 6pm last night, and it was like a pond . Gutted that we got so close to our best show ever, only to be thwarted by the weather.
We tried to make contact in everyway we could, but some people had already set out, a very cheerful girl from Leicestershire, Ann with Poppy, Susan with Polly & Dude and Steve with Booze & Nina. So sorry you had a pointless journey. Others arrived during the morning so we offered tea and cake as a consolation.
Everything is back in the house, we're drying out and searching for the rescheduled date.
Thank you's have to go to Dave and his team who have worked their socks off to produce this show. Also the volunteers who were on site today and were bloody fantastic as usual.
George is very tired after his adventures, as is Millie, but she seemed to show Booze that some 'other breeds' aren't all bad.

I am so desperately sorry for you, Dave, Janet and everyone who has put so much effort & attention into the show. Having seen the waterlogged state of the show ground & experienced the joys of the persistent rain, high winds, surface water, spray & low visibility on the motorways, this was really the only sensible decision but it must have been such a hard one to make.
I'm not sorry I made the journey round, we ended up with a nice walk around Notley CP, the rain even let up a little for it, and, as you say, Janet, Millie was a perfect influence on Booze It was nice to meet & chat to a few of the Essex Greyhound Walkers as our paths haven't really crossed before & Booze & Nina quite like a kip in the car on our journeys so they'll have had a good morning all round
Hope everyone who did venture out got/gets home safely and enjoys the rest of their Sunday in others ways. Personally, I'm having some sofa snuggle time with Booze while we both warm up

Such a shame, and I feel for Dave and his team who have put so much into putting the show together. Hopefully the weather will be much improved for the rescheduled date
I spoke to a couple who had come from Romford with their two dogs. They were very understanding and now have a copy of the new walk calendar as they haven't been on a walk
Looking on the bright side, it was lovely to see Ann and Poppy again, and to finally meet Steve, Booze and Nina. And the £12.49 I spent on waterproof overtrousers at the Trespass shop at Freeport yesterday was a very good investment The rolls that Mum and Jan put together won't go to waste either. David has his lunch to take to work for the next week sorted now

Just like to thank Charlotte for the phone call this morning and although I didnt reach the phone (as it was downstairs) I got the message that the show was to be cancelled. I look forward to hearing when the rescheduled date will be and hope that we can make it Many thanks Caroline Doggie-Collars
P.S getting my dogs to go out in the rain is a "no go". They wont even go out for a pee, its now been 14 hours since they last went so they will be shoved out in a minute whether they like it or not

Boo still enjoyed her micro walk around cp and was good to have a chat with other owners. will.def be back when u reschedule. and my 13 guinea pigs were very pleased with the bag of dandelions we picked for them! see u soon and thanks for the cake. yummy

A very tough call, but the right one I'm sure.
Thanks to Dave for getting the word out so early this morning, so we could try to contact those we knew were likely to be travelling.
I really feel so sorry for everyone who put in such an amazing effort and I'm sure that whenever the rescheduled show is, it will more than live up to expectations.
