Quite a long story to a slight change to Chelsea's Walk so I'll go for the short version ;D I know Chelsea isn't the only astounding hound to have left a family, leaving them with such sadness, such a sense of loss but ultimately such beautiful memories to hold in their hearts. Earlier this year Master, a fit and healthy 4 year old, who first came to the Greyhound Walks world by doing his very own Great British Greyhound Walk in Regents Park last year, and who travelled from London to be at our New Years Day walk, was diagnosed with and lost to aggressive cancer in a few short days. The grief felt by Emma his owner, and her community of greyhound friends was enormous, he like Chelsea had touched many lives. So ... As a tribute to Master and ALL hounds lost Chelsea's walk will now be the Rainbow Bridge Walk where we will remember all our hounds at Rainbow Bridge. There's a sponsorship page here and individual walkers will have forms. If you'd like us to walk in particular memory of your hound please PM me and one of us will carry their name with us. Thank you. www.everyclick.com/rainbow_bridge

Is there any chance of a paper sponsorship form I can print as I can take it with me round my garages and get more money that way!

Just giving Chelsea's Walk / Rainbow Bridge Walk a bit of a bump There are at least 12 Greyhound Walks walkers doing the all day walk on Saturday ... anyone is welcome to join us for all or part of the walk, anyone is welcome to sponsor us. Sunday 19th would have been Chelsea's birthday - you did good girl

Poppy and I are hoping to join you for part of the walk (depends on the weather). We will join at the booking station at about 10.00am. Are you going to have an awareness stand at the booking station like you did last year?

Just checking the details for the walk and wanted to ask - do we have to have a completed sponsorship form in order to be able to join the walk? I was planning on making a donation myself and I have made some more earrings (similar to the ones I gave Charlotte at Belhus Woods) for GW to sell but don't ask other people to sponsor me for things.

A few people have asked me why I always do sponsored things for animals of one sort or another, I said its because I prefer animals to most people! Got some good sponsorship but it came at a price as the condition was I do 'race for life' next year!

I'm the same - I would guess that of all the donations I make to charities it is probably 95% animals and 5% humans. It's not that I discriminate against humans, it just seems to work out that way I also hate being asked to sign up to Direct Debits by charities or pounced on in the street, but prefer to give ad hoc when I have a bit of spare cash. I justify my donations to the hounds cos OH won't let me adopt another one ;D

Thanks must go to Janet for planning today's Rainbow Bridge walk, lovely to be part of such a special day. Thanks also for the wonderful t-shirts, it really felt like those Rainbow Bridge Hounds were with us all the way.
Look forward to next year.
