High Beech is in the middle of Epping Forest & a stunning mass of woods & open countryside. It is straight off J26 of M25 & has toilets, two tea huts with snacks, several pubs doing nice food & no strict rules. I go there quite a bit with my dogs. Jaine

I think we'll have to go investigating I looked at Eping forest as a possible walk venue but it's much easier to work out if there's someone to show you around <hint .. hint> ;D

Do they sell jam at the tea huts? (Greyhound Walks in-joke re Royston walks). I am sure that my Benny & Gemma would love High Beech.

Sounds like a good one to me. We sometimes take Hattie to Epping forest but I don't think I've ever been to High Beech

Tis true, you do get bikers at High Beech (I used to be one ;D before I had to sell the bike in favour of dog transport ) and "boy racers" at the other car parks, but don't let that put you off. It's a big place and has fabulous walks and from what I remember, lovely hot choc and muffins. J

I am also a ex biker & they are a lovely lot who also take a lot of thier dogs up there & often look after Loki & Titch for me whilst I am trying to eat my lunch! The other end has been changed now so no boy racers go there. That was many years ago. I was thinking of one of the outer car parks then walking to tea hut. Jaine
