Really enjoyed this last year, sorry I cannot make it for the whole day but will be there after lunch. Wonder if they've put the children's farm with the small furries opposite us again this year?

Thanks Linda. I have your number now so will ring if I can't find you. From your description I need to follow the path down toward the marina.

My bandanas and badges arrived today - I'll bring them too - maybe a publicity shot is in order to promote the Ricky GBGW & GBGW in general?

Thank you to everyone who came along to the festival today, we had a lovely day.
Really good day for promoting the dogs, 2 couples went home definitely wanting to home a greyhound and are going to look at the rehoming kennels asap, quite a few other people took leaflets and are going to look further into homing a greyhound., we also had a couple of people who are interested in coming along to the walks to walk a greyhound.
We had a small video clip done which will be featured on BBC3, will post more details once we know when it is going to be shown.
This year we where further away from the small animal petting area.......no rabbits for the dogs for dinner tonight ;D
I will post some pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

It was a really good day. Didn't seem to be an awful lot of money about during the morning but there was genuine interest in greyhounds and a lot of myths about how they're 'specialist' dogs dispelled - all good for homeless hounds, I'd say. Delighted to say that all the hounds present behaved impeccably as ever

It certainly was a great day. Harry & I enjoyed ourselves, however, the walk back to the car was very very crowded and Harry was a little unsure although coped extremely well. All was going smoothly until a black lab decided to go for him. Luckily I managed to hold onto him although he flew backwards to the full length (almost 6ft) of his lead (thank god for martingales). The lab was on a shorter lead and couldn't get to him. The woman didn't even bother to apologise and just pulled the lab in with one hand whilst she held a beer in the other. She didn't even make eye contact with me! Somebody else just said 'oh these things happen' to which I replied 'oh do they that lab should have a damn muzzle on if it goes for other dogs' I checked Harry over but no damage done other than the fact that he was visably upset. We walked to the car and a lovely little dog came up to say hello but Harry wasn't relaxed after what had just happened.
He had his dinner and crashed out on my bed, which is where he is now. I just hope this doesn't have any long lasting damage on him.

So sorry to hear of this incident Karen, what a shame after you had such a lovely day with him. He was clearly enjoying himself all day getting lots of fusses.
