The weather forecast isn't looking very travel friendly at the moment - we will give updates over the next couple of days so if you plan to come to the walk please check the board for any changes in arrangements.
Thanks

The main roads seem good today but that doesn't necessarily reflect what our own local roads are like
There is lying snow in Woodbridge and our route may not be suitable so if we do walk that may change, however our main concern is the forecast for more snow around lunchtime. With the start time of midday we are worried, if it does snow again, that folk may not be able to get home safely.
We're going to post again early evening with any update we have and again about 9am tomorrow morning, by which time I'll know if I can get out of my road .
Please keep watching - thanks.

There's been no more snow today, we're going to see what happens overnight and will post at 9 tomorrow morning with the decision ... Thank you for your patience.

Morning,
Don't think we will be going on this walk as the snow has just hit us in essex and will worry about getting home again as according to weather going to be quite bad.
Such a shame was looking forward to this walk. X

Due to ongoing and increasing adverse weather conditions, we regret this walk is cancelled.
It has started to snow again where the walk volunteers live, and we wouldn't want to run the risk of them getting stuck.

CANCELLED.
Not a decision taken lightly to cancel, but as our volunteers travel some distance to this walk, looking at the forecast and weighing up the options there is too much risk of anyone heading east going getting home safely.

Makes perfect sense given the uncertainty of the weather and roads. Main roads may be okay but the side roads that many of us have to negotiate are very slippery at the moment. Ask Rob, he slipped when crossing the side road on the way to get papers this morning, luckily he isn't badly hurt as he was wearing his thick Winter gear, but he knocked his elbow and jolted his back Mind you, he is making the best of it at the moment, tea and biscuits to hand while he recuperates on the sofa
