I know this is a couple of weeks away ( we wont be able to come as on holiday), but at the moment the aquadrome is very flooded in parts, and the path underwater, so fingers crossed for you that it stops raining soon. It has confused Ben, he cant understand why he cant walk his usual route.

The Ricky walk should see the end of the bad weather because Andy has a hotline to up above. Lol

We will be doing a pre-walk reccee for this one to see if it is manageable! If still flooded we do have a cunning plan!!! (does not include the issue of waders )

The aqaudrome is closed today, as its too dangerous. The canal has now overflowed so that path is closed as well. Ben sulking!

If the cunning plan does not include waders might I suggest arm-bands, wet-suit, flippers, snorkel, scuba equipment, surf board, inflatables, dinghies, canoes and as a last result a lifeboat. Alternatively, have your usual word with Him upstairs and ask him to sort it out pronto.

Seriously, we will keep a close eye on the guidance on the Three Rivers DC website and if necessary, do a reccee the day before.
The cunning plan is a change of venue (TBA). Should this be necessary, we will post a "monitor" at the Aquadrome to make sure no one gets left behind.
However, at this time, there is no change of plan. We will see what next week brings.

We did a transport run for a GH rehoming centre in Ireland & had to get to Leicester Forest Services for 06.30 from Watford to pick up an older bitch whose family had split up.
Her name is Lady and she is now living locally with Chris so we hope to see them at Ricky., if it goes ahead. It's one of those "Dreams come true" stories because Lady came to assist the other dog Chris has who is POPEYE, a deaf lurcher and Andy is happy for him to come along although he's not a GH lookalike.
Popeye is young, intelligent, full of energy and learning about life from Lady communicating with him. Chris said they bonded straight away, following each other around, sharing beds, playing etc and she calms him down when he gets over excited. A match made in heaven.
Lady, really is a lady as Chris asked us over to meet them both again. Lady snuggled up next to me on the couch, paws on my lap and I got licks (our hounds aren't that demonstrative), she's so beautiful and gentle. Then Popeye joined in and they sat opposite licking each others mouths. .

That is a lovely story Heather. I hope the Ricky walk goes ahead as I would like to see you again. My two won't be making the walk themselves as old age is taking its toll. My Finn had to see Daniel yesterday evening as he was having a problem walking. Daniel has prescribed Tramadol as he has found some sore spots on shoulder and back. He is now resting comfortably and when up he seems a little more mobile. Old age is a curse as Winston Churchill once said.

Good afternoon Do you at the moment know whether this walk still going ahead on Sunday? Basil and I would love to come as I think this is the nearest walk to Burnham, Bucks. Is the walk for hounds only or can hounds friends come too? Thanks Lisa & Basil

I shall be visiting the Aquadrome tomorrow and will post an update around lunchtime.
If we cannot walk at the Aquadrome we will relocate to Cassiobury Park in Watford which is just 10 mins from the Aquadrome.
Watch this space!

THIS WALK WILL DEFINITELY GO AHEAD AS PLANNED.
The only part of the Aquadrome that is still flooded is the woodland walk but we can walk around both lakes.
In fact the paths are fairly dry - mostly, but there is some standing water occasionally, so wellies are recommended.
No change to the arrangements - Hooray!
See you tomorrow.
