Here's the way I see it ... - This forum gets 75000+ page hits every month.
- Average walks attendance is up
- GBGW walk count is up on last year
- The GW Show exceeded all expectations and targets.
- On a personal note, myself and Janet have met some great people through GW, and made some fabulous friends.
... so I guess we're doing something right So if one or two people don't like what we do for GW / GBGW, or don't like the way the GW Show is run ... then maybe, it's not us that has the problem Back to more important stuff... the weather is looking great for the walk at Chelmsford on Sunday

I couldn't agree more Dave, there is always some ar*e that wants to spoil things.
In my opinion, that's normally the result of being jealous of what others have achieved.
Wouldn't give these sorts of people the time of day myself.

this is an extract from the email received from an individual concerning not allowing other breeds ... much of the rest of it was equally negative "I consider that I and quite a number of rescues do more for the rehoming of Greyhounds and other Breeds than this GBGW with its silly restriction on other breeds attending."That really rattled my cage ... best for people to do their homework about us and what we do before slinging insults I totally agree with everything that's been said so far on this thread. I'd also like to add I can't believe that anyone who considers themself to be doing a lot for rehoming greyhounds wouldn't know about how anxious they can be around other breeds of dog - my two are a case in point and the restriction on other breeds is what makes the walks so very important to me and my two hounds.

Steve,I've been asleep. When did Nina happen I rehomed Nina last August. Is that what you meant by your question? Sorry if I'm missing the point Not sure if she'd have been fine with other breeds of dog if it wasn't for Booze's extreme reaction; I just know they are more relaxed on the GW walks than on any other!

We cant wait for the walk at Chelmsford. If it wasnt for Greyhound walks, we wouldnt be able to take Charlie to country parks etc, as he is still nervous with other breeds, and they are often off lead. The greyhounds in a group seem to calm him down, he is unrecognisable from when we got him thanks to Greyhound walks

The Walk Teams do a great deal of work on our behalf & we do appreciate it.
It is a shame we only found you last July as my two are sometimes not so keen on walks now but I'm sure they enjoy seeing their friends. Like many others I really look forward to our walks as we can relax with everyone and not have to be continually "looking out" for dogs off the lead tearing across the playing field at us.
Without the diary I think this will be the last GH walk in our area that Captain will come to as he's finishing his holiday here & then he's back to Essex to his foster home.
Roll on Sunday!

I've had sh!t week, indeed year, and I'm really really spoiling for a fight! If possible, like Paul, physically! Some people need to see outside their little bubble of existence. Apologies, not like me, but some people are so selfish sometimes.

The clue is in the title really, and if they had half a brain cell then they'd understand the reasons why!
Alot of people have worked extremely hard to make this event a success and I sincerely hope that the minority won't be spoiling it for the majority with any more stupid emails like that.
