As some of you will have heard, Liz Cooper took part in the Maldon Mud Race today, and managed to cross the finish line without being winched out or losing any items of clothing to the mud: Half of all sponsorship money has to be given to a list of official Mud Race charities (Essex Air Ambulance, Little Havens Children's Hospice, Army Benevolent Fund, 21st Century Youth), and the other half she elected to donate to Greyhound Walks. Thanks very much to Janet & Dave for coming along to show their support (and anyone else that may have been there) - Liz says sorry she didn't get chance to chat! If anyone wants to reward her for this foolish enterprise, she'll be happy to accept retrospective sponsorship on the New Year's Day walk.

Huge congratulations to Liz for not only finishing the Maldon Mud Race, but being daft enough to enter it in the first place. ;D We met Liz before the start, but the crowds were such that we couldn't see her finish, or even get any photos

The people who enter that event, with all due respect to Liz, are MAD!
Brilliant that Liz
1. entered in the first place 2. turned up on the day 3. started 4. finished 5. is giving a donation to GW
Well done, ... and before anyone asks I'm not entering next year, mud baths are not my thing! Happy to go along an watch anyone else who has a go though ;D
(Jenny with Kenya was also there to offer Liz support, not sure if you saw her there Richard?)

Huge congratulations to Liz for not only finishing the Maldon Mud Race, but being daft enough to enter it in the first place. ;D We met Liz before the start, but the crowds were such that we couldn't see her finish, or even get any photos I though I was going to struggle on the photo front too. I ended up jumping down onto the beach (and trusting someone I'd met about 10 seconds earlier to hand down my camera with L lens attached ). I (and a handful of other amateurs) was then alongside all the professionals with press passes. I fully expected to be told to clear off, but was left alone with a really good view of the action (Jenny with Kenya was also there to offer Liz support, not sure if you saw her there Richard?) That's great that Jenny & Kenya to have come along - I'm afraid I didn't see them though. As you know, the crowds were manic, and all my energies were spent on finding a decent vantage point, not losing site of Liz running/crawling, and then trying to find her afterwards! I think I've got all the mud off my camera & bag now.....
