This picks up the thread from the Off Topic Chat area so that we can arrange ourselves for this event. In brief - we've been invited onto a stall by a food manufacturer for all four days of the Crufts Show. We are participating to promote greyhounds and the whole idea of getting organised groups of walkers together to enrich the lives of rehomed greyhounds. For us it will be about showcasing responsible greyhound ownership and the joys of having retired racing greyhounds in the home ... so rather exciting! We have four passes per day and we can have 2 people and 2 dogs on the stand at a time, that will give everyone a chance to change over during the day. Passes will only go to people who are accompanying a dog and that dog has to be 110% bullett proof! It's going to be a long and challenging day so please don't put your dog forward if it isn't capable of coping, the well being of our dogs is paramount. Better to not be there than to have an unhappy dog there. Anyone who represents us on the stall will need to wear a Greyhound Walks polo shirt and their dog wear a Greyhound Walks coat. We'll have our leaflets for ourselves and the Great British Greyhound Walk to hand out. We won't be 'taking over' the traders stall, just enhancing it  We'll contact everyone who's expressed an interest and get a plan together, if you don't get a ticket sorry, if you do ... have a great time! If you want to go along but you're not accompanying a dog then you'll have to buy your own ticket I'm afraid. Any questions then please PM me or Linda. Linda has worked very hard over the past 2 months to get our relationship with this company to where it is, so we're treading carefully. Last thing we want is to upset them on their stand - which will have cost them a load of cash, and could cost us a show sponsor. Also: This isn't like a summer show stall, it's a trade stand. Which for those who have worked trade stands will know what hard work they are. |

Just to update everyone else, we're waiting a few more days for people to express their interest so that everyone has a chance to volunteer if they wish. We'll then we'll get a list together with people's preferred days and work out if we can get everyone there who wants to go on the passes we have. We're hoping to cover all four days, which would be marvellous. If everyone could bear with us while we work it out, there's plenty of time. Meanwhile we have lots to prepare, plan, order etc. |

Have just realised that crufts is in birmingham and not london and in view of knee op next week, will not be able to drive that far. Sorry, please take me off shortlist as can see no other way to get there.

Tickets for Crufts are on their way to me.

Arrangements are now being made for Crufts.
We still have a few places if anyone would like to go and has not put their name on the list please PM me.
We are also arranging transport sharing to minimise petrol costs.

I'm guessing you're happy that Axel is 100% bullett proof and could cope with crowds, attention and noise? (My George can't so has to stay at home  ) |

Sorry Janet, hadn't seen your reply. Yes, he's had experience doing fund-raisers and I think will cope. He's not done something quite so big, but he's good at adjusting after a little look around. He'll have his own vet bed from home and as they'll be swapping I think he'll be fine We're on the list now for Saturday now. I've tried getting into the chat room but no luck, it says I don't have access. Oh well, see those of you going on Saturday then! I'm just looking at train times now, Axel is well used to trains, so that shouldn't add any stress at all. |
