Please do not be put off by today's weather. I have arranged for the rain to stop so we can have a dry walk on Sunday!

Sorry we didn't make it today. When we arrived a rather officious youth in army uniform was stopping everyone saying the car park was full and we had to go to the north side of the park on the other side of the road. This car park was chock-a-block as was the overflow car park further up the hill. Given the choice of parking in Stevenage or Hatfield and walking back, we headed home to Watford stopping off at St Albans Verulamium Park for our own greyhound walk. Why isn't this park included in the calendar? It has toilet and café facilities, free parking for 2 hours and a river for the hounds to have a drink and paddle. It is a lovely park and far better than Leavesden. Betty would like to say that the liver jerkys intended to share out at todays walk she will force herself to eat them all eventually. See you next time.

Thanks to those that made it today, and sincere apologies to those who tried.
It was a fiasco. Unfortunately, when we booked the walk (8 months ago), they hadn't arranged to have a triathlon there on the same day. Apparently, that was arranged about 6 months ago.
So Finesse Leisure had 6 months to let us know in case we wanted to make alternative arrangements, but.........well, I'm sure you understand the rest. No communication at all!
We did mange to get parked on the North side, although it was very busy, and the 17 hounds and their owners managed to walk around one of the lakes twice, as the other lake was heaving!
Anyway, we have one more walk booked at Stanborough Lakes in November. We can't change that as the diary has been printed.
But what with the fiasco today, and the fact that the car park charge has increased to £3.10 (no change given, and the machines won't accept overpayment!!!), that will be the final walk at this venue.
Apologies again.

Poor Andy, it was not your fault so don't feel the need to apologise.
(We had just come back from holiday so decided to miss it, just as well by the sound of things)!

How annoying, shame so many leisure venues are now profit driven
