Directions:
From the A127
To get to Westly Heights from the A127, take the A132 (Wickford/Basildon turn off) and follow signs to Basildon town center.
If you come off the A127 London bound you need to take the 1st exit on the roundabout. If your coming off the A127 southend bound then you'll need to take the 3rd exit on the roundabout and go under the A127. You'll go past Sainsburys (on the left), keep going straight. When you get to the first big roundabout go straight across. Straight across at the next roundabout (Watermill pub, on the left) and then take the 3rd exit at the next roundabout onto Broadmayne. Straight across the small roundabout and follow Broadmayne all the way to the end.
At the big double roundabout get in the middle lane and turn left, getting into the right hand lane to go right at the next roundabout (signposted Laindon/Langdon Hills).
Go straight on at the traffic lights then at the small roundabout turn left. Keep to the left as the road splits at the traffic lights. You should now be on the B1007 (Staneway) follow this road and you will eventually go up a steep hill. At the top of the hill on the left is a pub called 'The Crown' and immediately after the pub car park entrance is the entrance to Westly Heights Park.
From the A13
Take the Horndon-on-the-Hill turn off (B1007), follow the B1007 all the way through and at the top of the hill you will go past a church right next to the road on your left hand side. Just after this church on the right hand side will be the entrance to Westly Heights.
Parking & Charges - Currently free parking
Suitable for buggys and wheelchairs?-
For the most part the route around the park will be on hardcore, but there is a little section on the longer route where we will skirt along the edge of 'Willow Park' which doesn't have any food paths as such and could get muddy if the weather is bad.
Toilet facilities - yes in the car park
Refreshments – The Crown pub is on site and will serve hot drinks as well as the other kind
Dogs are allowed in the beer garden, but not in the pub.
Nearest dog friendly pub - The Crown
Anything else – Not at the moment.
