Summer Shows 2014

It's only March, but we're starting to think about the shows and events where Greyhound Walks volunteers will be showing off their dogs and showing the public what great pets they make

We've already received a few invitations and we've come up with a list of possibles:

Essex Young Farmers Show, Roxwell, Chelmsford - Sunday 18th May (walk around)
Greyhound Extravaganza, Newmarket - Sunday 25th May
Rayne Village Fete, Rayne - Sunday 8th June
Ashingdon Fun Day & Dog Show, Ashingdon, Rochford - Saturday 5th July
Canvey Carnival & Festival, Canvey Island - Saturday 12th July
Maldon Carnival, Maldon - Saturday 2nd August
Essex Dog Day, Hatfield Peverel - Sunday 24th August (possible walk around)
Paws in the Park, Kent - Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September (walk around)
Billericay Dog Day (Bark in the Park), Lake Meadows, Billericay - Saturday 27th September
Cressing Village Fete (date TBC)

Some of these are regulars on the summer calendar and some are new, but our first outing with a stall will be the Greyhound Extravaganza in Newmarket where we will be promoting the Great British Greyhound Walk.

We fully appreciate that everyone has busy lives, but we couldn't do these events without your support If you would like to come along and give us a hand or let your dog meet their adoring public, whether it's for an hour or a whole day, then please let me know. We're a friendly bunch and I promise we don't bite!

Jack and I are local to Billericay so we could possibly do the Bark in the Park on 27th September. Pencil us in and give me a nudge nearer the time

Team Herts, am I right in thinking that Abbotts Langley Carnival should be added to the list above?

We'd love to Charlotte, but, at this time we don't have enough confirmed support to be able to commit to it.

Last year we had to pull out of having a stall at the last minute because we couldn't raise a big enough team, although we did the parade and spent time walking around the carnival promoting awareness. However, I'm not comfortable in committing to the cost of a pitch until we know we can man it properly.
