All good news today for the Greyhound Walks Show... Pitches for the show are now sold out. And ... we now have a PA system sorted out.
Over the next few days I'll post a list of kennels and traders who'll be at the show. And - news of some changes to the classes, including a very special class. More to follow.

All things considered a very successful day !
A huge thank you to everyone who came and supported us, our indefatigable volunteers who smiled even when the rain fell in shards out of the sky and a very special thank you to Dave for keeping the show committee on their toes, working his socks off and working his magic to make it a very smooth, enjoyable and memorable day.

I know the weather could have been better, a little break from the rain would have been nice, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . So a very big thank you to everyone who organised it and who helped to make it such a success. Roll on next year!!!!

We came to the show today after spending the weekend in Kent before returning back to Birmingham. Came through some very bad weather on route but thankfully the rain had eased when we got to the show. Although it was a very damp affair we enjoyed ourselves and even got a 5th place in Best Family so have a nice keepsake of our day. Although we spent less time at the show than usual we still managed to come home with 2 new harnesses, 4 collars, doggy tombola prizes, cool coat & lots & lots of treats. We will pop it in our diary again for next year hopefully without the wet stuff!

Thank you so much for a fantastic day, the Greyhound Walks team did a great job in organising this event. Despite the "challenging" weather conditions everyone greeted us with a lovely smile and nothing was too much trouble, everyone involved could not have been friendlier and worked tirelessly throughout the day. So a big thank you once again for organising another successful show.

Despite getting soaked to the skin,we had an enjoyable show. Karen showed Kit for the first time - she found it all a bit confusing but I think she enjoyed taking part! Ended up buying Kit a waterproof coat and then later as it turned colder a lovely AK Creations fleece - lets call it a late birthday present! Well done too everyone in very difficult weather! Great show!

There were lots of photos taken yesterday by a lovely team of volunteer photographers. They are sitting on Dave's laptop waiting for me to get home from work, do a quick sort and upload. Hope to show them off by tomorrow night

Just to add our thanks for a great day. David was a little reluctant to stay overnight at the showground on Saturday night, but actually really enjoyed himself and wants to do the same next year. Very tired today and sore feet as I don't think either of us actually sat down properly until we got home! David was back at work today but I had the day off I ended up with a raffle prize in my car. It's a handbag and I believe it's destined for somewhere in Braintree? If anybody has the details of where it's going then I'll drop it off. Also I'm assuming the two folding chairs that we're left in our tent were rescued? They had blue covers.

Having my "two hats" on - firstly with my Clarks farm hat on I would like to say a thanks to Steve, David and Janet who came to help us while our gazebo decided it wanted to do an impression of a inside out umbrella ella ella, and Mandy for lending us a table since I forgot to bring the other one, so a big thank you for all your help. Now with greyhound walks volunteer hat on, not wanting to sound like a parrot but as others have said, I think it was really good the way that the weather didn't ruin the day every one just got on with what needed to be done and got it done, there was a attitude of well im wet now and I cant really get much wetter so lets get it all done together. I know when talking to Janet P she said it is because they have a good team around them (which is true) but if people don't agree with the direction the show was going and start to go off in a different way everything falls apart very quickly - so I think a massive thanks has to go to Janet, Dave and all the other members of the show committee who all put in lots of hard work behind the scenes to ensure that everyone had the best time possible at the show and it run as smoothly as possible - You all arranged a really good show which we never let the weather ruin.

Liam that is very kind, you were one of the days volunteers helping us out in the early hours to unload and set up which we really appreciated especially as you were then helping elsewhere.. The feedback from people who came from the local area and from some distance away to support not only the event but also us as an organisation has been 101% positive and made us all just a little bit 'emosh'. It's good to know we made the right choices before and on the day. Jan T is counting the last pennies but we are very confident a small profit was made (phew!) Poor Dave is really poorly hence him being a little quiet and not coming online to say thank you to everyone involved be they sponsors, helpers, show committee members of those who have taken the time to say thank you and well done. Thank you all once again on behalf of Dave and the Show Committee.
