Ok, this is how it works ...
Everyone that comes will be given some betting slips and some 'Greyhound Walks' currency (fake money) to the value of £5000.
The races that you bet on are Greyhound Races on a DVD. They are old races, but the names of the dogs have been changed to fictional ones with a commentry dubbed over, so no-one knows the outcome of the races and no-one can cheat.
You will be shown the previous form of the fictional hounds for the last 5 races which will help you to place your bets. There are 5 types of bet that can be placed, all of which will be explained on the night. It is just the same as the bets you would place at an actual race event.
When all the bets are taken, we will play the race DVD, you can cheer on your hound and then hopefully claim your winnings.
The most successful 'punters' on the night will recieve prizes.
Does that make sense?

Sounds great to me. Should be a cracking good evening.
I wonder if the Government want to buy shares in the Greyhound Walks Bank ? ;D

So who's going then?
Kelly I think I ordered our food and will give Ian our payment tomorrow.
Do I need to study the form of any dogs to be in with a chance of being a winner?

Janet, yes I have your food orders in. You can't swat up, all the dogs names and race meetings are fictional, so there's no way of knowing which dogs are actually running. No-one has seen the disc playing, except me to check how it works. I've only watched one race though and there are 30 on the disc, so I won't be playing the one I watched anyway. I'll print off the race meeting details and the dogs previous forms for the last 4 races as per the DVD details which will be made available to everyone on the night. There will also be a sheet explaining the different types of bet you can make for all you betting beginners out there (like me).
