Lovely to see you and Ned today Carol. We had a good time at the carnival and the dogs were very well received by the public.

oh shame, I do love Charlie. Hope he's better, will he make next week's show?[/quote]
Charlie has now got his bandage off, and it is healing nicely, but we are keeping his foot in a sock as he keeps licking it, so we are hopeful for the show, fingers crossed

How about a few more pictures - surely someone took some!

How about a few more pictures - surely someone took some! Our usual photographer was having an at home day and her deputy was busy being in charge and trying to make sense of the Maldon Carnival reorganisation of the schedules!

Did the Maldon and Burnham take any photos on the day before the off? Come to think of it did you get anywhere in the judging?

Carol it was so disorganised we didn't know where we were suppose to be in the carnival or where the judging was to take place. We didn't see any judges.

Hmmm thats unusual, I think there is normally a table outside the co op where you collect your collecting tin or bucket and maybe thats where they tell you to go and be judged. Never mind as long as you all had fun and raised the profile of greyhounds thats all that matters.

We went to the table and they just told us to walk up to the end, which we did. At the other end if the road no-one seemed to know where they wanted us to go and so we walked back to the co-op. Didn't see any judges so we went back to the field until the carnival started and they just slotted us in near the front in the end.

About 10 years ago the carnival used to stretch from the top of Cross Road all the way to the CO OP and round the corner into Mundon Road, in recent years its hardly reached my house there was talk that if people did not enter it then this year would be the last. It seems that a lot of new people came forward and maybe they could not cope. Still as long as you had fun.

I take my hat off to carnival organisers, not something I'd volunteer for, but have to say the Walton one, although huge fun like Maldon, is always pretty hit and miss and getting hold of contacts is a nightmare
